For more than two decades, Fundación La Puerta has led environmental education programs that help children, families, and communities reconnect with nature and understand their role in protecting it. In 2026, this commitment was recognized nationally with Mexico’s Premio al Mérito Ecológico.
Centro de Educación Ambiental Las Piedras (CEALP): “To know is to love, to love is to protect.” Workshops, interpretive walks, and community events for students across Tecate — Journey Through Water, Guardians of the Chaparral, What To Do With Waste?, and Tree of Life.
Huerto Educativo: An open-air classroom for all ages, home to the Seeds of Wonder workshop for preschoolers and the Urban Horticulture Course for adults.
Impact: over 120,000 children reached since 2000, more than 2,900 preschoolers through Seeds of Wonder, and over 50 urban gardeners trained.
