Living Culture in a Border Region

Fundación La Puerta A.C. invites the community to celebrate the XXVI Day of the Dead Festival, one of Tecate’s most meaningful cultural traditions.

For more than two decades, this celebration has brought together families, artists, organizations, and community members to honor those who came before us and to keep alive the traditions that connect generations.

Under the theme “Living Culture in a Border Region,” the festival celebrates Day of the Dead as intangible cultural heritage, recognizing the importance of preserving and sharing the traditions, stories, artistic expressions, and collective memory that give our region its unique identity.

This year’s celebration will begin with the traditional Day of the Dead Procession on October 23 at Parque Miguel Hidalgo, followed by the main festival on October 31 and November 1 at Parque del Profesor.

Admission to all activities is free.
